Eckert Structural Tree Care is based in Culpeper — not a franchise, not a satellite operation of a Northern Virginia firm. We live in this county, we know its neighborhoods, and we've served its property owners since 2022 under our original name, Culpeper Tree Service. The trees here — from the white oaks lining historic farm roads to the heritage witness trees on former battlefield ground — are trees we know well and are trained to care for. We bring that same specialty arborist care to Alexandria, tending the specimen plantings and historic landscapes that make the city's canopy worth protecting.
Tree Care Services We Provide in Alexandria
Specialty arborist services tuned to the trees, properties, and expectations of Alexandria homeowners.
Structural Pruning —
Corrective and early-establishment pruning for specimen, estate, and landscape trees. Critical for young plantings on new-build homes and for mature trees on estate properties.
Tree Risk Assessments —
TRAQ-qualified evaluation of trees near houses, outbuildings, driveways, and fences. Particularly valuable for large estate properties and historic properties where risk management matters.
Tree Health Assessments —
Diagnosis and treatment planning for declining trees, construction damage, and environmental stress. Common in Alexandria's rapidly changing landscape.
Tree Support Systems —
Cabling, bracing, guying, and propping to preserve heritage trees and specimen plantings. A frequent ask on Alexandria estates.
Fruit Tree Pruning & Restoration —
Orchard care for heritage apple and pear trees common to Alexandria's older farms and estates.
Root Collar Excavation & Soil Work —
Air-tool root-zone inspection and soil improvement for trees on compacted or disturbed sites.
Alexandria's Trees Deserve a Specialist
Alexandria has one of the most diverse tree inventories in Virginia. Heritage white oaks and tulip poplars define the western Piedmont landscape. American beech, red oak, and sugar maple line historic estate drives. Ornamental dogwoods, flowering cherries, and Japanese maples anchor designed landscapes across the county's newer neighborhoods. And across all of it, Virginia's increasingly stressful summers — drought, heat, late frosts, and pest pressure from emerald ash borer to lanternfly — are pushing tree health to the edge.
The trees that define a Alexandria property take decades to establish. When something goes wrong, you don't want a quick removal — you want a qualified second opinion. That's the work we do.
